Keep It Simple - Christmas Party

A holiday party is a great way to let your employees or clients know that you appreciate them. I love the idea of no hassle, arrive and "be served" parties. I found this little gem while searching for ways to coordinate for an office party. Who doesn't love Portland's "Christmas Ships"? If you have a staff of 10 or more this is definitely something to consider. Even if you have a staff of 2, but want to entertain some clients you could use this fantastic idea!
Enjoy ~

October Wedding

It was a beautiful sunny day when Mr. and Mrs. S tied the knot! What a joyous occasion. One highlight of their wedding was the inclusion of their Chihuahua "Toby". It was so cute to see the pup in his tux.
Ben & Kerri live in Beaverton OR, but chose to strike up some nostalgia by hosting their wedding in the church where Kerri's parents had wed Some 40 years ago. It was a medium size wedding with family and friends in attendance. The happy couple spent the evening of their wedding in the Columbia River Gorge and honeymooned at the Oregon Coast.

Thanks for the pleasure of coordinating your wedding. “Happy Anniversary” - Miracle One Events!

Birthday Celebration

10 years ago today I was 27 and traveling the Eastern US selling Christian music. Oh the fun of my youth! Did I just admit my age? Yes! Today I am 37. Only 3 short years from the big "4-0"! Being in the Christian music industry was filled with many live concerts and meeting artist. Good times! I haven't attended a live concert in a few years.

I was thrilled to recieve an early birthday gift from my little sisters, Renee and Kaitlyn. Tickets to see Jason Mraz. I love his acoustic driven tunes.
We started our celebration off by going to an early dinner at The Macaroni Grill in downtown Portland, Oregon. The Macaroni Grill (MG) is an up scale version of The Olive Garden. The MG had great ambiance and yummy food. The waiter, who we thoroughly embarrassed by asking for a photo with Renee, sang happy birthday to me in Italian. Just the dinner alone was an event; fun and full of laughter.

I love the City of Portland. It has unique amenities and fun modes of transportation. Kate wanted to park by Lloyd center and take the Max to save on parking. It was a short 3 minute ride to The Rose Garden. We arrived an hour early to get settled and do a little people watching. We were thrilled with our seats which were located directly behind the floor seating and just ten rows up from the ground. We thought it was odd that all the rows in front of us were empty. Little did we know of the special birthday gift Jason had planned: )

He sang many old and new favorites. But the real excitement came at intermission when Jason Mraz disappeared. He was escorted through the lower tunnels of the Rose Quarter to a small makeshift stage smack in front of us!!! Kate began pulling my arm, while Nae shoved me from behind! I grabbed my purse and down we went. Nothing between Mraz and us but a security guard! He did a 3 song set that swooned Renee to tears! It was fun to be up close and personal.

Anyway, it was a fun evening and I was honored Renee and Kaitlyn thought so highly of me to give me such a wonderful birthday gift.

Thanks sisters!
Angela

The Entrance

I have a confession to make... I always cry when the bride makes her entrance. For those of you, who are traditionalists, stop here! For those of you who believe in making your wedding unique and memorable, check the following video out. I admit it is a challenge for me not to take life too seriously. My husband who has a great sense of humor often challenges me to "lighten up"! Jill and Kevin did just that. What a fun way to get the rest of your life started!

P.S. I even cried when this bride made her entrance! There is just something about the bride.

Wedding Wednesday ~ Celebrate Again...?

I hope you'll join me every Wednesday for special wedding information!
When bride and groom have family living in different states how should they choose a wedding location? What if it just doesn’t accommodate everyone? May I suggest a few ways to handle the situation?
A.) Hold the wedding where the bride and groom reside.
B.) Choose a location close to one set of parents.
C.) Plan a destination wedding.
Your primary care or concern for guests should be to give advanced notice. Work with a local hotel, block off a certain number of rooms at a group rate for your guests.
Send "save the date" cards six months prior to the wedding, include information about local accommodations. This will help guests plan and save for your wedding. If a large part of your family is unable to attend, have a second reception close to the family that lives out of the area. I recommended this option to Loren & Kathy. Their son Jake met and fell in love with a California beauty Michal (My-kel), while playing football at Saddleback College . Jake and Michal, who work and live in California, chose to tie the knot in sunny southern Cal. (who can blame them). I had the pleasure of coordinating their NW reception with the groom’s parents, Loren and Kathy.

Second receptions can be as formal or informal as you make them. We had originally planned to celebrate the week after their wedding. The original plan included a more formal event in a venue that would have a wedding reception feel but due to poor weather, postponed it for a later. Jake and Michal's NW reception ended up being about 5 months after the original wedding, therefore the Buchanan’s wanted to go with a relaxed atmosphere. We saved money on the venue by using a family member’s rather large, nicely manicured back yard for the event. Flowers were seasonal with a couple bouquets of red roses mixed in. Music was a mix of the couples favorite songs burned to a CD. We had a total of five awnings for guest and food purposes. The colors were carried over from the original ceremony.
The menu simply delicious: Shrimp veggie kabobs, Chicken Teriyaki kabobs, rice, salads - provided by various family members, fresh cut veggies, and fresh fruits. The fresh Bavarian cream with strawberries cake was purchased from a Vancouver bakery Larson’s. The day of their NW reception was picture perfect! It was an honor to help this couple celebrate with family and friends here in The Pacific NW.

Miracle One Events - Website and Blog Going Live

What an exciting day! I'm launching my website and blog.
What is in a name? Miracle One Events represents varied meanings for me personally. First, I believe in “The Miracle One” Jesus Christ. He has worked in and through my life since I was a young girl. Second, His first miracle was at a wedding, hence the name “Miracle One Events”. Check out my logo in the upper right corner. I chose the black image with its bends and turns because it reminded me of a worshiper. I pray that in all I do through my wedding and event coordinating I glorify Him. This is my act of worship; to use my gifts and talents to bless and encourage others in their journey.
Jason - thank you for inspiring me to reach for my goals and dreams. You work so hard everyday supporting me and our boys. I'm so blessed to have you as my husband and life partner! I have many great friends and family who have encouraged me during this exciting new adventure. Special thanks to Jessica Lemmon’s Photography for all of her support and patience along the way. Without all of you I wouldn’t be here! I look forward to serving you during future weddings and events!
